A Decade of Devotion to Developing Language Arts Students:
From Average to Astounding

Join our students and teachers in the celebration of our 10th anniversary to honour the school’s history, identity and aspirations. We are holding a week of celebrations, from 3 to 10 September, to encapsulate the precious moments of Writers Studio’s students, parents and teachers. Events are held at our galactic library where our teachers bring forth fun performances and meaningful learning programmes.

 Our Anniversary Highlights

Book Launch and Giveaways

Published by Writers Studio, ‘Read It Right’ is the first book of an oral series that provides detailed and expansive tips on how to score for the Read Aloud component during oral exams. The book also comes with short, practical exercises for your child to improve on his/her performance. In addition, the centre launches ‘Unlock Your Potential to Write More Vividly’, a book that explains the fundamentals of enhancing stories by depicting emotions, settings, appearance and actions of characters using sensory and imagery devices.
*50 limited copies each of ‘Read It Right’ and ‘Unlock Your Potential to Write more Vividly’ will be given out, terms and conditions apply.

Tenth Year Anniversary Enrolment Special

From 3 to 30 September, new students will enjoy special discounts when they sign up for a full term enrolment for our regular STELLAR Primary 1 to 6, and STARDREAM programmes for Secondary 1 to 4. Don’t miss this opportunity to start your child’s learning journey with us at our 10th anniversary offer.

Poetry Slam

Writers Studio’s Secondary School students will be demonstrating their language prowess by presenting one or more original poems that include the word ‘cool’ by joining the open mic and sharing their cool moments. The two best poets on the stage will win book vouchers.Slam Judges are selected from the teacher and audience pool. As Richard Nixon once said: “I can take it. The tougher is gets, the cooler I get.” Likewise, be ready to hear about cool gadgets, even cooler buzz words and cool anecdotes coated with wit.

Remove Writer’s Block in Kids terrarium session

As part of our tenth anniversary special, the first 50 participants (non-WS students only) are entitled to a free terrarium workshop. As the children imagine a fantasy terrarium world, they get to create a story in their minds with the help of a trained facilitator. They get to put in characters, think about their feelings, their thoughts and lives. Then, we transport them back to reality, where they can create better story ideas.

Sign up for the Glasshouse workshops here.

Learning Vocabulary through Story Telling sessions

Writers Studio picks 4 great stories of Diversity and Inclusion to teaching students about the differences among social groups and how each of them could overcome social stigma in society. Stories will cover issues on poverty, resilience, cyber wellness, intergenerational gaps and the struggles of being hearing-impaired. Vibrant, humorous and fun segments of the stories have been selected for these sessions!
