Literature (Language Effect & Analysis)
Students learn to read closely, examine how language creates meaning and effect, and express their analysis with clarity and precision.
They will learn to:
- Identify significant words, phrases and details in a text
- Recognise literary techniques and understand how they are used
- Analyse how language creates mood, tone and atmosphere
- Explain the effects of imagery, word choice and figurative language
- Explore how language shapes character, relationships and key moments
- Select relevant textual evidence to support their analysis
