WRITING SEGMENT: Think Like a Writer…and a Marker
- Unpack the composition topic and identify what the question is really asking
- Interpret picture prompts purposefully and select ideas that connect meaningfully to the topic
- Identify the story core before developing the plot
- Plan a well-structured story with purposeful rising action, climax and resolution
- Expand important moments instead of simply listing what happened
- Show actions, thoughts and emotions through dialogue, sensory details and description
- Apply vivid vocabulary and creative phrases naturally rather than forcing memorised expressions into a story
- Write meaningful reflections and endings that connect to the events of the composition
- Review and redraft targeted sections to improve both content and language
- Evaluate their own writing and recognise what makes a composition stronger
ORAL SEGMENT: Build an Answer, Not Just Give One
Your child will learn to organise an idea, explain it clearly and support it with relevant reasons and examples.
Through guided oral practice, students develop responses that move from:

They learn to listen carefully, think before responding and communicate their ideas with greater clarity, relevance and confidence.
