March Holiday Programme 2026
Reach for the Stars

With the updated 2025 PSLE Writing and Oral syllabus, our Primary 5 March Holiday Programme 2026 is designed as focused PSLE English tuition to equip students with the latest strategies and essential skills for writing and PSLE Oral preparation, empowering them to build confidence and strive for stronger performance in their PSLE English journey.

Writers Studio’s March Holiday Course will be held from 16 to 20 March, covering:

📌 Oral Training (19 to 20 March) – This dedicated segment focuses on spoken fluency, articulation, and confidence, supporting effective PSLE oral preparation. Students practise both conversation and reading aloud based on the updated syllabus requirements.

📌 Composition and Situational Writing (16 to 17 March) – These focused sessions target common writing weaknesses, strengthen plot development, and provide clear guidance on the situational writing format, aligned with current PSLE expectations.

As PSLE exam formats continue to evolve, early exposure to structured writing practice and effective oral techniques helps students progress with clarity and stay ahead. All sessions are led exclusively by senior educators, including Ex-MOE teachers, from Writers Studio School of English, ensuring expert guidance and personalised attention throughout the programme so students can reach higher, refine their skills, and excel with confidence.

Why Choose Our Programme?

Preparing for PSLE with Confidence
With the revised writing syllabus and increased weightage for PSLE Oral introduced from 2025, expectations at the PSLE level have become more demanding. Our March 2026 Holiday Programme is thoughtfully designed to help Primary 5 students adapt to these changes through focused and purposeful preparation, without unnecessary pressure.

Targeted Guidance Backed by Experience
At Primary 5, composition writing expectations rise significantly, and identifying specific areas for improvement becomes increasingly important. Drawing on years of experience and classroom insights, our teachers provide targeted support to help students strengthen composition skills and address key weaknesses. This level of guidance helps parents better understand where their child stands and how progress can be made more effectively.

Advanced Assessment and Structured Writing Practice
Before the programme begins, students receive a diagnostic review of their creative writing to identify language gaps and areas for growth. Using our in-house rubric aligned with the latest PSLE expectations, teachers guide students through clear strategies for improvement. Throughout the programme, students work on one composition topic daily, with grading and detailed feedback aligned to MOE standards and school weighted assessments. 1 composition will be graded.

Students who enrol in the full programme will also receive creative vocabulary cards at the end of the course, serving as a practical reference to support continued learning after the holidays.

What Your Child Will Learn: Situational Writing & Oral Training

Situational Writing
Our March Holiday Situational Writing programme helps students develop confidence in writing for real-life contexts. Through engaging and interactive lessons, students are guided through a range of situational writing tasks, including informal and formal emails, each tailored to different audiences and purposes. Emphasis is placed on clear and effective communication, while nurturing the ability to analyse situations and respond appropriately. With structured practice, focused instruction, and constructive feedback, students strengthen their writing techniques and become more confident when handling situational writing tasks in exams.

Oral Training
Oral communication skills are developed through lively and supportive activities that encourage students to participate actively and speak with confidence. Students learn to respond spontaneously, adapt to different conversation scenarios, and leverage their strengths when presenting ideas. Lessons focus on structured presentation techniques, strategic question analysis, and forming clear, thoughtful responses.

Reading aloud is also incorporated to help students meet the updated MOE reading expectations, equipping them with the skills needed to approach this component with greater ease and assurance.

“My favourite story is Father Christmas. We get to act out a skit before we started analysing the characters. During that lesson, I learnt to write something meaningful. Best of all, I could get a lollipop as a reward. This is my third holiday course at Writers Studio.”

“I like to write but I needed to put on a bigger thinking cap. I learnt to make some bends in my story plot. I learnt new ways to write about the characters and what they do in their stories. I could pick up new vocabulary because at every paragraph, we are taught new phrases.”

“I enjoy the lessons taught during the Creative Writing Camp. There were so many interesting activities. I remember that we had to wear a face mask with a big nose and act out a character. It makes me think about what the character will say and do in my story. I learn to create new characters in my stories.”
