P6 Composition Writing & Oral

March Holiday Programme
Aim High and Shine Bright

The March holidays offer a valuable opportunity for Primary 6 students to identify and address writing and oral gaps while there is still time for meaningful improvement. Aligned with the latest PSLE expectations, our P6 March 2026 Intensive Holiday Programme focuses exclusively on Creative Writing and Oral, equipping students with essential techniques to strengthen performance in these high-weightage components and approach the PSLE with greater confidence.

📝 Creative Writing and Situational Writing (16 to 18 March) – Students will learn structured techniques to craft engaging compositions while strengthening story development and plot manipulation for PSLE success. Lessons also focus on expanding language use through powerful language devices and varied sentence constructions, helping students write with greater clarity and impact. In addition, students will practise a range of situational writing genres aligned with thePSLE requirements, supported by constructive feedback and practical guidance to drive steady improvement.

🗣 Oral Component (19 to 20 March) – This segment is specially included to help your child ace the PSLE Oral Exam by familiarising them with the latest PSLE expectations for reading aloud and stimulus-based conversation. Through guided practice and personalised feedback, students learn effective strategies to improve clarity, confidence, and overall oral performance.

Led by our experienced senior and master teachers, including Ex-MOE teachers, this programme delivers focused, effective, and results-driven lessons. Through structured and purposeful guidance, students refine key writing and oral skills, build clarity in expression, and develop the confidence needed to perform at their best when it matters most.

What Your Child Will Learn: Creative Writing, Situational Writing, Oral

Language Paper 1: Creative Writing

Writing exam topics change from year to year, making a strong grasp of plot development and plot manipulation essential for consistent performance. Our lessons focus on relevant writing genres, ensuring time is spent purposefully on skills that drive real progress. Each day, Primary 6 students write a full composition, applying newly learned creative phrases and writing techniques to strengthen their work.

Drawing on our experience since 2012, our programme has consistently identified PSLE writing topics with a 95% of accuracy. All lessons are aligned with MOE assessment standards, with detailed marking provided to support clear and focused improvement. 1 composition will be graded.

Situational Writing
Our March Holiday Situational Writing Programme is designed to help students develop confidence in writing for real-life contexts. Through interactive and guided lessons, students practise situational writing tasks, including informal and formal emails, articles and notices, each adapted to different audiences and purposes.

The programme places strong emphasis on clear and concise communication, while strengthening critical thinking skills needed to interpret situations accurately and respond appropriately. With structured practice, focused instruction, and constructive feedback, students sharpen their writing techniques and become more confident when handling situational writing tasks in exams.

Language Paper 4: Mastering Oral Excellence
Written by former MOE oral examiners, our programme builds strong confidence for PSLE Oral Exams and prepares students thoroughly for the new 2025 syllabus. Through targeted strategies and ample guided practice, we address each child’s individual gaps to support steady progress towards the 2026 year-end examinations.

Our teaching strategies, refined over 14 years of experience, have supported thousands of students across Singapore. Small group classes allow for personalised feedback, while practices based on MOE-predicted question types encourage critical thinking and creative responses. Every student is given opportunities to present, receive evaluation, and improve through constructive and encouraging feedback. Parents will also receive lesson-by-lesson progress updates, making it easier to reinforce learning at home.

At Writers Studio, we use unique in-house techniques that are both adaptable and highly effective in helping students perform more confidently in school assessments. Students learn to organise their oral responses using persuasive language devices and clear signposting techniques, ensuring greater coherence and stronger delivery. Our teachers pay close attention to every detail, addressing presentation issues carefully to optimise performance at the PSLE.

“My favourite story is Father Christmas. We get to act out a skit before we started analysing the characters. During that lesson, I learnt to write something meaningful. Best of all, I could get a lollipop as a reward. This is my third holiday course at Writers Studio.”

“I like to write but I needed to put on a bigger thinking cap. I learnt to make some bends in my story plot. I learnt new ways to write about the characters and what they do in their stories. I could pick up new vocabulary because at every paragraph, we are taught new phrases.”

“I enjoy the lessons taught during the Creative Writing Camp. There were so many interesting activities. I remember that we had to wear a face mask with a big nose and act out a character. It makes me think about what the character will say and do in my story. I learn to create new characters in my stories.”
