PSLE Oral Day 1 Examination Questions
Practical decision-making and public behaviour in Singapore’s shared spaces formed the common thread in this year’s PSLE oral Day 1 questions. Students were asked to study a picture of an ice-cream kiosk outside a shopping centre. In the picture, the ground seemed slippery, seemingly after the rain.
Subsequently, students were asked to share their experiences of queuing for a long time, and reflect on whether Singaporeans are generally orderly.
These questions required students to consider environmental factors in business suitability, examine patience in everyday situations, and comment on societal habits.
This year’s PSLE oral questions marked a noticeable shift, placing greater emphasis on critical thinking and spontaneous analysis.
Questions tested on PSLE Oral Day 1:
1. Do you think this is a good place to sell ice cream? Why or why not?
2. Have you ever queued for a long time before?
3. Do you think Singaporeans are generally orderly? Why or why not?
As the PSLE oral continues to evolve, effective preparation must go beyond memorisation. It is about building real communication skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure. With this in mind, Writers Studio’s new P5 Oral Training Programme has been designed with PSLE rigour at its core. Drawing from recent exam trends and classroom practice, the programme equips students to perform with confidence in the exam and to communicate effectively beyond it.
