Peter Rabbit Storytelling Event

Our Peter Rabbit storytelling session was filled with giggles and excitement! Lee Lee, our visually impaired storyteller, brought the mischievous adventures of Peter Rabbit to life with her lively voice. The children were also thrilled to meet her gentle guide dog.
From listening to Peter’s adventures in Mr. McGregor’s garden to joining in the fun quiz, the children’s imagination and laughter filled the room.
It was truly a delightful afternoon of stories and joy for everyone!

SG60 Competition

Thank you to all our students for actively participating in the SG60 competition!

It was not easy to select the winners, as every piece was truly unique and special. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to all parents for your unwavering support and encouragement throughout this journey. We are delighted to share these precious photos of the children and their wonderful works.

Jungle Book Storytelling Event

In conjunction with National Day, we enjoyed an engaging Jungle Book storytelling session with Lee Lee, our visually impaired storyteller, who also teaches Literature and Writing to visually impaired children. The children were all excited to meet her guide dog.

Students from our centre and the public dived into Mowgli’s adventures, joined lively quizzes, and took part in fun role-plays. The room was filled with laughter, imagination, and learning. Every child went home with happy memories, small rewards, and special door gifts!

Halloween Costume Competition 2024

Announcing the winners of our Halloween Costume Competition 2024…congratulations to Livia Lim, Tan En Xu, and Aaiden Tan for their “Most Bootiful Costume” awards!

It was wonderful to see the joy as the students collected their well-deserved prizes. A big thank you to everyone who participated for your originality, sporting attitude, and boundless creativity. You truly brought the Halloween spirit to life and made this celebration extra special.

Creative Writing Workshops March 2023

Not a bit of time was wasted this March. Our teachers delivered intensive revision classes to help students strengthen their creative writing skills. Besides giving their students plenty of motivation, our teachers ensured that their holiday classes were worthwhile by including our signature story writing techniques that have helped many of our past graduates attain top scores at the PSLE.

April Fool’s Stand Up Comedy 2023

On April Fool’s Day, our teachers held a stand up comedy for the children. Everyone had a hearty time.
We thank all our English teachers for their incredible creativity and our students for being sporting.

Flash Fiction Qualifiers 2023

Met with great enthusiasm, our very first flash fiction competition attracted many student participants in May. Intrigued by the creative writing prompts, students’ minds were aglow with ideas as their pens flew across the pages, filling them with stories that pleased our judges.

Book Cover Art 2023

Our students were delighted with a very different activity to showcase both their art talent and their love of reading in this year’s book cover art contest. Students stand to win great prizes for their creativity.

Mother’s Day Poetry 2022

We celebrated Mother’s Day with poems. Students wrote poems and dedicated them to their beloved mothers, along with mini handmade bouquets.

March Storytelling at Galaxy Library 2023

Today, our monthly storytelling session was led by Teacher Clement, where he shared the award-winning novel, “Howl’s Moving Castle” by Diana Wynne Jones. The event was met with an overwhelming response and atmosphere was electric. Prizes and complimentary gifts were given out to the enthusiastic attendees who joined us for this captivating experience. We can’t wait to see you at our next storytelling session.

PSLE Oral Training Classes 2022

As a PESA trainer when she was in the MOE, Mrs Goh always believed in the importance of oracy training. Having taught many students with great success in their PSLE oral, WS launched a special 3 segment series to help our students ring in stellar performances. Ashley Tay’s father commented on how effective the workshops were in raising her Prelim scores.

March Creative Writing Workshops 2022

This Creative Writing camp targets serious training while retaining plenty of fun to bolster the confidence of our students, since the year had just begun. Students were given exclusive materials and handouts only available by attending the camps.

June Creative Writing Workshops 2022

Back by popular demand, we blend drama with writing through a curriculum created by our in-house team. Armed with a creative writing masters from the UK, Mrs Goh spearheaded this project to excite and accelerate progress among our creative writing students.

September Book-Inspired Creative Writing Camp 2022

With materials written by our curriculum team, this unique writing camp taught students to harness fiction to improve their creative writing skills, focusing particularly on creative vocabulary and literary devices. Only for the mid to upper primary levels, the camp met with positive feedback from parents and students. All work was marked meticulously with feedback given by our qualified teachers.

Storytelling At Galaxy Library 2022

On our 10th anniversary, our teachers told stories from intermediate fiction to inspire children on the significance of social inclusion and diversity. Stories shed light on the handicapped, the aged, the poor and those who are victims of the cancel culture. Opened to the public, it included thought-provoking quizzes with prizes.

Story-Telling by Abigail Chay 2022

Ventriloquist Abigail Chay told a story written by Mrs Goh titled “Never Mind the Sequins”. This story showcased the talents of our in-house writers who also wrote our own curriculum and lesson materials. The story shed light on social inclusion and poverty, reminding youths of today to prevent those most at risk from being pushed behind because of poverty, discrimination and inequality.

Remove Writer’s Block Workshops 2022

Students participated in experiential learning workshops to remove writer’s block through terrarium garden art. Based on materials specially designed by Writers Studio, the workshops focused on thematic creative artwork while encouraging kids to unleash their imagination. Over 100 participants attended this exclusive workshop series.

Terrarium Workshop for Children 2021

In collaboration with The Chatty Caterpillar Mental Wellness Educators, we held a Terrarium workshop for participants from 6 years and up. They learnt to create their own fantasy worlds to activate their minds and creativity while balancing the mind.
