Pri 3–4 March Programme

P3 to P4 Creative Writing & Oral

March Holiday Programme
Victory Begins with Belief, Grows with Effort,
and Ends with Success!

For many families, PSLE preparation can feel like something that lies far ahead. At the Primary 3 and 4 stage, however, this period is about laying the groundwork and helping children aim higher with confidence in creative writing and PSLE Oral. With PSLE syllabus updates from 2025, early PSLE English preparation helps students adapt smoothly and feel more assured as expectations gradually increase.

As English demands become more structured, having a strong foundation makes a clear difference. Through our Primary 3 and 4 English programme, students develop essential skills such as plot structure, effective vocabulary use, clear expression of ideas, and organised oral responses. While some subjects may be easier to catch up on later, writing and oral skills take time to mature and play a key role in achieving a stronger PSLE AL score. This holiday programme focuses on these core areas, supporting steady progress in two high-weightage components.

Our Teaching Approach, Feedback & Outcomes

Why Our Programme Works

Drawing on years of teaching experience and in-house materials, our programme is designed to address common challenges in creative writing and oral, including fear of writing and lack of speaking confidence. Even for students joining us only during the holidays, our teachers focus on engagement, motivation, and clear guidance to help students participate actively and learn with confidence.

Primary 3 and 4 are critical years where expectations rise and foundations for upper primary are formed. Targeted guidance at this stage helps students adapt smoothly to increasing demands in both writing and oral performance.

Feedback, Grading & Standards

Throughout the programme, students complete one composition daily and participate in individual oral presentations, guided by experienced teachers. Lessons include grading and detailed feedback aligned with MOE standards and school weighted assessments, giving a clear view of each student’s progress. 1 composition is graded.

Learning Outcomes

This March holiday programme is designed to build strong learning habits, confidence, and exam readiness through focused facilitation and goal setting. Content and skills taught mirror the way exam topics and expectations are approached in upper primary, supporting meaningful progress in both writing and oral performance.

What Your Child Will Learn: Creative Writing & Oral

Creative Writing

Students’ writing skills are carefully assessed by experienced teachers using an in-house rubric aligned with the latest MOE expectations. On the first day of the programme, each student receives a diagnostic review to identify language gaps and areas for improvement.

Through daily writing practice and detailed feedback, students learn to apply structure, improve language control, and develop clearer ideas. Students who enrol in the full programme will receive creative vocabulary cards for revision.

Oral

Oral skills are developed through lively, practical sessions that encourage students to speak, practise, and present in a supportive environment. Lessons focus on structured presentation, analysing questions, forming thoughtful opinions, and reading aloud with confidence, in line with updated MOE oral expectations.

Students also learn to adapt responses and use their strengths effectively, building confidence through guided individual presentation opportunities.

This Creative Writing and Oral programme is designed to support your child’s growth at a comfortable pace, making meaningful use of the one-week school break to build confidence and key skills.

“My favourite story is Father Christmas. We get to act out a skit before we started analysing the characters. During that lesson, I learnt to write something meaningful. Best of all, I could get a lollipop as a reward. This is my third holiday course at Writers Studio.”

“I like to write but I needed to put on a bigger thinking cap. I learnt to make some bends in my story plot. I learnt new ways to write about the characters and what they do in their stories. I could pick up new vocabulary because at every paragraph, we are taught new phrases.”

“I enjoy the lessons taught during the Creative Writing Camp. There were so many interesting activities. I remember that we had to wear a face mask with a big nose and act out a character. It makes me think about what the character will say and do in my story. I learn to create new characters in my stories.”
