I am passionate about two things: language and the teaching of language. My approach is practical and enduring, emphasising collaboration with parents and teachers who truly care about each child’s development. I believe that, beyond academic success, it is essential to instil core values such as gratitude, respect, honour, and humility – qualities that help shape children into successful and responsible adults.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy learning foreign languages, having studied Korean and currently learning French. In my personal time, I enjoy engaging in charity work and spending quality moments with my child. I am also excited to be working on a project aimed at improving literacy among the visually impaired.

With a passion for English teaching, I have spent 16 years honing my skills in various teaching environments, from language centres in Europe to schools in Asia. Having conducted numerous online and onsite classes, I believe in creating interactive, tailored lessons that meet each student’s unique needs and goals. I am a professional development enthusiast and look forward to participating in conferences and seminars which fosters professional exchange with fellow educators.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy exploring language and culture, having studied Japanese and currently studying Spanish. Outside the classroom, I enjoy fulfilling conversations with friends, singing, reading biographies and professional literature in psychology and travelling.

I believe in focusing on my students’ potential rather than just their current abilities. I encourage them to ask questions, to think critically. My goal is to create an environment where students feel empowered to explore and develop their skills.
I am writing a new genre fiction book during my free time, and I am a board game enthusiast as well.

I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance. My teaching style is straightforward and patient, helping students grasp difficult concepts through real-life examples. I aim to balance firmness with empathy in the classroom, creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to grow and ask questions.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, especially poetry writing and hiking. I also love spending time with my family, engaging in creative activities like crafting and cooking. Intellectual discussions with fellow educators during professional development workshops help spark new ideas for my lessons.

My teaching philosophy revolves around mentoring my students to write eloquently and sophisticatedly. I support my students by implementing their personal strengths and abilities with learning and activities in the classroom. Having spent a significant amount of time in the states, I utilise a collaborative and energetic approach to the way lessons are taught. Preparation for any lesson is key to success.
I enjoy watching independent movies, which helps me find inspiration for my lessons. In addition, I enjoy reading thriller genres. From time to time, I will create stories with students outside of class, for those who are keen to develop additional skills not covered in class, which appeal to those hoping to acquire deeper writing techniques. Some of my students aspire to carve a niche career out of creative writing one day.

I believe that consistency, diligence, and self-discipline are the key roots to success. As an avid triathlonist and marathoner, I understand the importance of these values and finishing strong at the finish line – excelling in everything I do. Likewise, as a passionate cook, I know that the right temperature and cooking techniques can spark curiosity, making the learning process an exciting adventure.
I find it very challenging to open up students’ minds and help them apply what they have learned by the end of each lesson. To make lessons more interesting and captivating, I use self-created ‘formulae’ that enhance cognitive retention and memory. I firmly believe that if students can handle all kinds of questions independently, they are already winners!

My background in Maths, Science, and Engineering uniquely equips me to teach English with precision and structure. I view language learning not just as an art but as a logical system that can be mastered through clear methods, much like solving complex equations. By using the analytical thinking I developed as an engineer, I help students approach English with confidence, guiding them to develop a solid grasp of grammar, writing, and comprehension.
In my spare time, I enjoy activities that challenge me to think critically and creatively, whether it’s engineering solutions, teaching complex subjects, or bringing positivity to those around me.

I have a passion for guiding young learners and believe that every child benefits from an encouraging yet firm approach. In my lessons, I closely scrutinise students’ work for spelling, punctuation and annotations, which are crucial for their learning journey. By breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized explanations, I ensure that each student comprehends the concepts taught and feels confident in completing their weekly homework.

I believe in encouraging students to be motivated and self-directed, appreciating the rigour of academic pursuits, and developing a sense of pride in their work. Students with such maturity not only perform better but also derive more personal satisfaction, which in itself is motivating. While I recognise that fostering this maturity can be a challenging endeavour, I believe it’s important for anyone to keep trying.

My teaching philosophy centres around respect and open communication. I believe in engaging students in their learning journey and understanding the various responsibilities they juggle. Instead of punishing incomplete homework, I prefer to have open discussions to understand their challenges and motivate them to complete their tasks. By treating my students as capable individuals, I nurture their growth and confidence.

I enjoy spending time with children in other capacities, such as volunteering to support those who need extra attention. These children are much younger than those I teach at the education centre, and our time together often involves conversations, English storytelling, and creative activities.
At home, I unwind by spending time with my husband, enjoying a good book over tea. I also love catching up with my fellow teachers at the centre and deeply appreciate the camaraderie shared with colleagues who have become close friends over the years.
