Prepare your PSLE student for a smoother transition into Secondary 1 with a compact course covering the essentials of English Reading Comprehension and Writing, Literature Essays, and History Essay Writing. This programme is ideal for students preparing for O Level and IP classes in 2025, equipping them with the basic skills needed to handle these subjects. This is also a taster programme, giving you a preview of our new extensive courses for Humanities.
In the English segment, students will learn about the essay structures and techniques for Personal Recounts and Reflective Essays—necessary genres for the O Levels. These will also be a focus in the earlier years of the O Level and IP streams. Also included are reading comprehension skills that will be taught by our tutors, who have extensive experience in delivering strong results in this area.
In the History segment, students will gain valuable insights into both local and global historical events, with a focus on developing skills in analysing and interpreting historical information. They will learn to appreciate multiple perspectives and understand the importance of context in interpreting historical events. Additionally, students will learn exam-based essay structures to effectively express their analyses and opinions in written form.
In the Literature segment, students will explore novels and short stories that examine themes such as identity, culture, and social issues, featuring works by local authors alongside classic literature. They will develop essential skills in analysing texts, discussing themes, characters, and the author’s intent, while fostering critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper appreciation of literature.
